1. What do I need to rent a car?

Before we can rent a car to you, we need the following documents:

  • Your valid driving licence
  • A second form of photo ID
  • An additional proof of address
  • UK Licence Holders Only: A DVLA check code

2. What happens when I collect the car?

When you come to collect your car we will check your identification, may ask a few insurance questions and then will take you to your vehicle.

If you are arriving on the island at the Ferry Terminal or Airport  Terminal we offer a meet & greet service free of charge; greeting you with a board with your name on it and take you to your vehicle.

We walk round the vehicle with you, take pictures and have a map of the vehicle showing any damage on it. This is all discussed with you and after we check the vehicle out all documentation and photos are emailed to you.

3. What insurance is included or avaliable to purchase?

It is compulsory to be insured on a rental vehicle, meaning that basic third party liability insurance is covered in the cost of the rental. The basic excess on a car is £1000 for any damage to mechanics and bodywork. Any damage to tyres, wheels, windscreen, and glass must be paid for in full. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess on vans and tippers is £1500 If you are aged between 21 and 24, insurance excess will increase by £400.

Additional insurances available to purchase include (all prices include VAT):

Full Cover: This is £25 per day and will bring your excess from £1000 down to £0. You will also be completely covered for any damage to tyres, wheels, windscreen and glass. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess on vans and tippers is £1500 If you are aged between 21 and 24, insurance excess will increase by £400.

CDW (Excess £0): This is £20 per day and will bring your excess on damage to mechanics and bodywork from £1000 down to £0. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess for vans and tippers is £1500. If you are aged between 21 and 24, insurance excess will increase by £400. CDW does NOT cover tyres, wheels, windscreens and glass.

CDW (Excess £250): This is £16.20 per day and will bring your excess on damage to mechanics and bodywork from £1000 down to £250. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess for vans and tippers is £1500. If you are aged between 21 and 24, insurance excess will increase by £400. CDW does NOT cover tyres, wheels, windscreens and glass.

Tyres and Wheels Cover: This is £5 per day and will cover you for any damage to tyres and wheels. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess for vans and tippers is £1500

Windscreen and Glass Cover: This is £5 per day and will cover you for any damage to windscreen and glass. This is not applicable for vans and tippers. Excess for vans and tippers is £1500.

4. Are long term hires available?

5. What vehicles do you have for hire?

We have a range of cars, vans, ford transit tipper pick ups and also a 9 seater minibus available for hire.

6. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, debit/credit card, BACS Bank Debit, and Offline Bank Transfer.

Please note; our preferred method of payment is debit/credit card.

8. What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

You may during the rental period, subject to availability, add extra days (charged at the applicable daily rate) to the original rental period by calling our office and getting agreement orally or in writing from management prior to the expiry of the agreed rental period.

If you cancel or amend the rental agreement within 48 hours of the booking commencing, then under no circumstances will we fund all or any of the booking cost including insurances that have been paid.

If you cancel or amend the rental agreement outwith 48 hours of the booking commencing, you will receive a refund of 75% of the original booking cost.

If you return the vehicle early, no refund will be made for the unused portion of the rental period.

We have the right to refuse to release the vehicle to you if there are any undisclosed endorsements on your driving licence or you fail to provide the documents required as stated in clause 3 of our rental terms. In such circumstances, the rental agreement may be terminated and we will not be obliged to refund all or part of the rental cost.

8. Do you have age restrictions?

Yes, due to insurance regulations there is an age restriction.

– All drivers need to be aged between 21 and 75 years old.

21-25 year olds:

– You are not able to hire minibuses/MPVs/7.5 ton vehicles.

– You must have held your licence for at least 2 years.

– Excess increases by £400

25 and above: 

– Must have held licencfe for at least 1 year.

Fuel Plans

Every customer will receive their rental car with a full tank of fuel. The car must have a full tank of fuel upon its return
